I sometimes wonder what photo Alan will choose to put on my little funeral menu card (order of service card ... if there is a service). Will it be my most recognisable one to my friends on the internet. Me and my beautiful pet cabbage.
He could always use the close-up version!!
He could use this one and scare everyone. 😄
Or he could just go quite boring and serious, and share this one taken in August this year.
One of the few downsides to being a blogger is that the camera is usually in my hands and therefore I am rarely in the shot. The poor man just doesn't have much choice does he. 😂
I dare ... indeed I double dare ... any of my readers with a blog of their own to share three photographs of themselves on their next post.
And I apologise if I have given you a shock with this very unusual post, calm down have a coffee and I promise normal service will soon be resumed!!
*If I had the choice, it would be the first photo. Just me in my normal attire of jeans and a t-shirt clutching a vegetable, what could be more Sue!
Sue xx
One hopes it will be many years before the order of service photo is needed! I love your cabbage photo. I note that, like me, you have a fondness for striped tops. I like it when there are two or three pictures on such cards - a formal pose, a 'younger' picture keg childhood, or wedding shot) and the one that makes everyone smile and say "that's just how I remember her". The cabbage snapshot wins!
ReplyDeleteOh, I hope so too!!
DeleteYes, I love a striped top ... my washing line is usually a myriad of stripey t-shirts and jeans.
I accept your dare!!! https://trundlingthroughlife.blogspot.com/2022/10/for-sue.html
ReplyDeleteVery brave of you, and you look lovely in almost all of your photos ;-)
DeleteLike you I've very few photos of myself, especially recently. Not even with a vegetable!
ReplyDelete(Although there is one of me aged 7 on my blog today)
I'm off to go and have a look. :-)
DeleteMine would have to include a dog!
ReplyDeleteFunnily enough there's not a lot of me and the dogs, as usually Alan has them while I take a photo. I need to remedy this.
DeleteWhat a thing to think about but then I can't talk my husband says I come up with some odd comments, I am a thinker and analyser and it might be the other way round ,whichever one I hope it will be a very long time before either of you have to chose. Mind you ,we are not ones to have the television on during the day but on the odd occasion that we have it is so depressing, the advertisements in the afternoon assume that we are either incontinent, have trouble getting out of a chair or bath or are about to pass on to that great cabbage patch in the sky so no wonder we think of such things. Yes I may dribble a little bit, grunt when I leave my chair and take a couple of pills but I would rather see advertisements for wine, chocolates and colourful clothing to remind me that life is good :) And yes, the cabbage one !
ReplyDeleteI thought about it as I am having a good sort out ready for a table-top sale this weekend and I came across a couple of funeral service cards and the other week at Mum's I came across one for her neighbour. They were all very 'ordinary' photos, so I do think my cabbage photo would be the one that I choose for me.
DeleteI rarely watch adverts as I record everything that I want to watch on the Freeview box so I can whizz through the adverts and just see the programmes, but I know what you mean. It's all begging for money adverts during the day isn't it and things that older folk might need. And they do it so well Mum is always talking about them.
I love the iconic cabbage photo so would choose that one, but the second photo would be fun! Like you I rarely have photos taken of myself so doubt I could find 3 worth showing! ;)
ReplyDeleteI could use the last one, ...that is just so serious ... on the back of the card, and have the tag line 'Now GO and have some fun!!' Bossy to the end. ;-)
DeleteBrilliant! LOL....
DeleteI am always behind the camera too. Only recent one of me for years was taken by the volunteer when we visited a Landmark Trust property.
ReplyDeleteI think the last one of me AND Alan was taken by a German tourist on Sark, we are rarely seen together in photos.
DeleteI always think of the first one as being you but I like the final one too. Like Angela and yourself, I am very partial to a striped top! Catriona
ReplyDeleteYou can't beat a stripey top in my opinion, maybe the occasional spotty one, but stripes win every time.
DeleteHow beautiful you are. I like all 3 of these. The top one though says so much about you. I think I will take up your challenge. You are right, I am seldom in any photos. I am the one who takes them.
ReplyDeleteThank you, what a lovely thing to say.
DeleteI am going straight over to see if you have. :-)
Well...I don't want a funeral, so... I want everyone to have their own picture of me, I guess. The picture that speaks to them. I imagine that everyone's favorite picture will be different.
ReplyDeleteMum doesn't want a funeral either, she's spent the last few years planning it all in great detail and leaving us instructions and then last years she signed up and paid for a Pure Cremation thing instead.
DeleteIt's nice that we can all have our own picture, either physical or in our memory, of how we remember someone isn;t it.
Hello Sue, I accept your dare - love it! :>)
ReplyDeletehttps://dezondagssteek-jeanneke.blogspot.com/2022/10/voor-sue-kijk-mij-nou.html
Thank you for joining in. Your photos are beautiful, what a lovely family you have too. xx
DeleteI would pick the first one also. That is you to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's me to me too. :-)
DeleteI like all of them, especially the middle one. I hope no order of service is needed soon!
ReplyDeleteI just cannot act seriously if I am wearing a face mask, they are hilarious. The peel-y ones are best but I do love a good 'cracker'.
DeleteI would pick the first one.
ReplyDeleteIt says what I think of when I read your posts.
You are, I think, someone who knows their own mind, has a good sense of humour,
no patience with pretence and an independent spirit.
The third photo is much too severe for me.
I hate all photos of myself so will skip the challenge thanks.
Sue
Wow ... you have summed me up so well!!
DeleteThe third photo is what my son calls my 'What the bloody hell are you doing?' serious face.
I like the last one, it reminds me a bit of my Mum's face when she was about to tell us off! (which she still did almost to the end....in a nice way!). You won't get any photos of me on my blog, I hate having my photo taken and avoid it at all costs....I just don't like myself in pictures.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can look very serious ... a proper 'resting bitch face' at times :-)
DeleteI love all three of them and I hope Alan won't be choosing any for many years yet!
ReplyDeleteJon's got a photo of me as a screensaver on his phone, holding a beer and staring out over the Thar desert in Rajasthan, if I kick the bucket he could use that. xxx
Gosh I do hope not :-)
DeleteThat photo sounds like it sums you up so well, tell him he must ... in many, many years.
No funeral for me so now photo necessary! I like all of your photos. The last would be put on a card that says, "Behave now! I'll be watching you!"
ReplyDeleteNo funeral for my Mum either, after years of bloody planning she's signed up and paid for a Pure Cremations thing!!
DeleteLovely photos and number one is my favourite! :-) Oh yes, I'm another blogger guilty of being behind the camera and not in front of it. I do want to get more photos of me with my kids, partner and family though, but it's hard to turn the camera round! Thanks for inspiration! xxx
