It's the simple things that make me smile and brighten my day.
A £1.69 bunch of flowers from Aldi in a jug on the mantlepiece, that catch my eye over and over and seem to help banish the greyness of the day that is outside the window.
Suky helping me in the little laundry room this morning. If you can call it 'helping' having a Pug lick the freshly washed sheets as you fold them.
Meanwhile back home in Wales the animals helping theme continues with Ginger seemingly proof reading for his Dad. Yes, this was this morning, Alan has just forgotten to flip the calendar over … perhaps I should have told Ginger to remind him!!

I love fresh flowers too. I bought a big bunch of yellow roses as we had a viewing this week (was today but they cancelled yesterday . . .) I'm enjoying them anyway and they go perfectly with the yellow walls in the kitchen. How little things bring such pleasure. In fact, it's been the wild birds bringing me the most pleasure this week - Mistle Thrushes which live in the copse at the top of our paddock, and a flock of very wild Redwings feeding on the Hawthorn tree beside the stream. One move and they were gone, but so beautiful to see.
ReplyDeleteFresh flowers give me pleasure too. A bunch of supermarket roses is my favourite at this time of year and daffodils in early spring. I treated myself to a lovely bunch of deep pink sweetheart roses today for just £2.50 They will last at least 2 weeks.
ReplyDeleteMy friend bought me a beautiful bunch of supermarket flowers for my birthday. They are over 2 weeks old and I keep breaking bits off and refreshing the water.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are lovely. I used to buy flowers at pay days when I was working but have gotten out of the habit. They really add a lot to a room or space. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteWatching sunrise does it for me - this morning just a little colour, not an awesome "must get the camera" but still a privilege to be abl to see it.
I also like fresh flowers, only a small bunch. I currently have a very pale lemon, (little cartnations) I cannot remember the name, but like you everytime I look at them it makes me smile, simple pleasures. Helen S.

ReplyDeleteThis year the Moon Daisies in my garden went bananas! They bloomed in early summer, then a few weeks later they sprang up all over the place. My patio was like a jungle but I hadn't the heart to chop them down, so enjoyed them all through the summer, autumn - and still they bloom. But I was able to keep cutting a few and have them in the house all this time - marvellous! I wonder when I shall see the slabs on the patio again?
