The Blogging Break is Permanent

I have decided that my blogging break will not be coming to an end.

After just over a month without writing a post of any description I have discovered a freedom and a freshness to life that I did not expect.  There has been no more reaching for the camera to photograph something that I am doing or something that I think other people may like or want to see ... I simply enjoy it in the moment for myself, and in that simple action of not reaching out, enjoy it all the more.

No one needs to know what I am doing or eating, where I have been or where I am going, and just this simple mental letting go has been truly liberating.

I did briefly consider shutting down all but one of my blogs, but then after checking the daily reading figures on all of them, having a good look at the statistics over the last month when they have been left to fend for themselves, and seeing the daily traffic that uses them to access other blogs I have decided that I will leave them online for the foreseeable future.

Thank you for reading my writings over the last 15 years I hope it has been interesting for you.

If on a rainy day you want to have a read of the ramblings of girl who moved from town to country, from farm to smallholding, from smallholding to caravan and then a settling down in a small town by a canal, the pages of the blogs will be there for you to find through the links on the sidebar.

Wishing everybody that reads this, all the very best for the future.

Sue xx

  20. Oh I am going to miss your posts! But as everyone else has said, you must do what suits you. I do understand, I think, what you mean about the freedom of not blogging - it sometimes feels like a chore to me, but then I realise I want to blog to - well, talk to everyone! Your blogs have been such an inspiration to me over the years, so thank you very much for that. I hope you and yours have a happy life Sue, and who knows, maybe you'll feel like doing it again in the future (I hope so!). Love and hugs, Sooze, husband and Betty xx

  21. Sue, like so many of us, I want to thank you for all you have shared through your blogs. I am so pleased you have decided to leave them up as I often dip in to old posts especially the challenges. I have loved your ramblings. I'm also one of those who uses your blog list and it's led me to all sorts of other interesting people. I wish you all the best - and, like Rhonda's Down to Earth, there's always the freedom to come back!

  41. I rarely comment but I wanted you to know how much I've enjoyed reading your blogs over the years and of course meeting you, Alan and the doggy girls at the boot sales in Wales. If I want your 'company' I can go back to re-read all of your adventures and yes, I'm one of those who visits your blog everyday to read the updated blogs on your blog list, it's handy to have so that's another reason to appreciate you keeping the blogs online. Take care and wishing you happiness and contentment in the future, Gill (and Mike)

  43. Thank you so much for your blogs and for letting us into your life. Needless to say you will be very much missed. I do however understand and would heartily endorse your reasons. There are a lot of blogs out there that have turned into daily repetitions of what they eat, how they exercise, what they buy - so much money being spent! - and not much else. I hasten to add Sue that yours was never like this, they were just a joy to read. Very good wishes to you and Alan and your lovely animals. Take care and enjoy the freedom.

Wishing you, Alan and the doggies the best of health in the future and here's to your new blog free life. x

  50. So very very sorry - you are my favourite blogger - hope it has nothing to do with a certain blogger attacking you and accusing you of showing your true colours. I have always enjoyed your all of your blogs. You will be missed. Fiona x

    1. Absolutely NOTHING to do with that. I have always shown my true colours and spoke my mind ... and indeed she knows that, but she decided to throw a hissy fit anyway. I have clearly and concisely given my reasons for stopping blogging on both this and the last post. There is no other reason.
