A Wet and Windy Dog Walk

The sunshine left us

The rain lashed sideways

I sat outside the cafe with the dogs

Hood up, my back to the wind and rain

They wouldn't let dogs in

In my Smaller Life

I live near a town that welcomes dogs with open arms

Into charity shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs

Even my little black feathered friend decided the weather was getting totally shitty

He sheltered

I went home.

  1. I do love little towns who allow dogs into restaurants. And I love your photo of the sheltering blackbird.

  2. We live near a city and dogs are regarded as a nuisance. When we took our dog on a short break with us to Kelso in the Scottish borders we were amazed how welcoming people were to our dog. When I left my husband holding him outside a gift shop while I had a browse the owner immediately went out and invited them in and we had the same experience in most of the places we visited there. It was lovely. I wish it was the same here.
