Officially we're still on holiday this weekend.
Alan cleared his desk before we went away and he is determined not to fire up the computers before nine o'clock on Monday morning. So on Friday instead of making ourselves some lunch we took the dogs to Daisy Clough with us, they love it there. There is the apple orchard to walk around, the bee hives to admire and horses to peer at through the fence. Then of course they get to sit with Mum at the tables while Dad goes and puts a 'coffee and cake' order in ... or as it was this time 'a salad and chips order'.
'Is he coming back with some food yet Mum?'
Of course any good café or restaurant that welcomes dogs has the obligatory treats jar, and they had a marrow bone and a gravy bone each, along with a nice drink of cold water.
And it would seem from Tash's photos that the dogs enjoyed their holiday with her and Jason just as much as we enjoyed being away. Lots of canal side walks under the bluest of blue skies.
Mavis having a chat with her best little buddy Maeve through her back garden fence which backs onto the canal. They've been best friends ever since their first meeting.
Cool evening walks on the towpath.
Followed by the game of 'how many of us can we fit on the sofa?'
It looks like a lovely time was had by all.
Sue xx
Maeve looks like she has the potential to get her head thoroughly stuck, but what a sweetie. And Mavis - oh dear, darling Mavis, she is looking older (as are we all!)
ReplyDeleteMaeve forgets that as she grows so does her head, only a few short months ago she could almost climb through the trellis. Yes, Mavis is suddenly going whiter on her brown bits, we forget sometimes that she is older than Suky by at least a year.
DeleteI don’t know who is enjoying it more, the dogs or you?
ReplyDeleteI'd say it's equal, we enjoyed our holiday away and the dogs enjoyed their holiday at home. Perhaps they enjoyed their holiday away from us more than they are letting on ;-)
DeleteI do love your Mavis. What a lovely life she has with you, after her dreadful past.
ReplyDeleteShe's my little beauty. Can you believe it's been 8 years since I went and picked her up and she came back home to us!!

I love Holidays At Home. Just as nice as going away and cheaper - assuming one has the self control to KEEP it a holiday. I'm so glad you've enjoyed yours. xx
ReplyDeleteIt was good and Alan kept the door of his office firmly shut, until first thing this morning ... I've not seen him since then!
DeleteLovely to see the animals' holiday photos - and it shows that all of them were thoroughly at home with Tash and Jason. (Love that sofa pose).
ReplyDeleteThey have all always loved Jason to bits and as usual for our animals whoever their loved person loves they love too, so Tash was welcomed into the furry family with open paws a couple of years ago.
DeleteIt sounds like you all had a proper holiday! Very restful 😊 thanks for sharing the lovely photos.
