Hidden ... and Not So Hidden

Living in a small space means that some things just cannot be hidden.  When I'm making full use of the sunshine through the French doors even though the rain is pouring down outside, the washing is there for anyone to see ... lucky then that's it's usually just me.  😀

Somethings are not exactly what they seem, and storage is found and used in many ways.  The little green chest holds my collection of Beryl Ware pottery, the red flour-bin is full of packets of desiccated coconut, ground almonds and sweeties.

And hidden in the basket are crisps, ready to bake bread rolls and my potato bag.

You never know what you are going to find hidden away!!

In full line of vision the other day ... just after Alan assembled it ... was Ginger, trying the bottom shelf of the new office shelves for size.  He loves to watch the world go by on Alan's window sills and now it seems he loves to watch Alan work from his brand new vantage point.

  3. Hanging laundry just confirms that life is lived and enjoyed in your home. I like signs of life in a home. Cats are happy in high places! My two cats often have a competition to see who can get on the highest spot in the house.

    1. Ginger is loving all of Alan's window sills, but he's not discovered the very top floor yet as the door is nearly always closed. Once he realises the view from there it will be his new favourite spot. 🐈😀

  4. We're the same we often have washing on the radiators and maiden (so much so that my daughter even included them in one of her drawings lol) but i say it's normal, afterall a house is meant to be lived in, its not meant to be a show home and you're making good use of the sunshine to dry your clothes so what better reasons for having clothes on show is there lol. I love your basket and red flour pot btw x

    1. It's just real life isn't it, too many bloggers and vloggers only show off perfection and carefully curated areas of their homes. Me, I'll air my clean laundry for all to see 😀🤣

    1. He loves finding a new place to sit, especially if it elevates him above the dogs. 🐈🐕🐕

  6. Cats seem to enjoy looking down on things. I have a laundry rack much like that in my bathroom.

    1. They really do like to don't they. 😀. This is pretty much the only place I can have my airer without me falling over it ... and it definitely wouldn't fit in the bathroom, it's bigger than the total floor space in there. 🤣

  7. Hidden in plain sight . . . What are nooks and crannies for if not for filling? And what are windows for iuf not for letting the sun in to dry the clothes? :-)
I love a house to be a home.

    1. I definitely prefer a home to a 'showhome'. These French doors are great for letting light and sunshine into my space. 🌞

  8. That's exactly how I dry our washing too. When it's sunny it saves putting on the tumble dryer and dries quicker indoors than out. Ginger looks very comfortable up there 👌

    1. Yes this lot of washing definitely dried faster indoors, outside it was cold and damp and not a hint of a breeze. On a windy day I still get some of the drying done outside, but most days it's not worth the struggle to peg things out.
