Start With What's Important

If you start with what's important

In your hour, your day or your week

And only move on to the rest when the important stuff is done

You will take back control of your life

My important ...

A hot drink once I'm awake enough to drink it

With minimal chatter

Except with dogs

Then

And only then will my day begin.

  1. Well said (but how do I stop feeling guilty about not doing *stuff* that I used to do before I retired). I have loads of projects lined up but most of the time I think I can do that tomorrow.😆

    1. I used to have lots of stuff waiting. Craft supplies to make cards, fabric to make various things, bits and pieces to put together for ideas I had had, hundreds of books waiting to be read ... I sold them as they were and the pressure instantly lifted.

That was my way, you'll find yours when the time is right or when you want it enough.

    2. That is exactly me. I think before retiring I fantasised about creating lots of fabulous cards..scrapbooking..clothes etc. Have got every gadget for same and have actually enjoyed making cards etc for a long time but the stash of materials and patterns I have collected is just sitting there and you are right...perhaps I don’t want it enough. We are moving house and will now have to do a massive declutter. The amount of books (cookery) is frightening and I usually look online for recipe ideas anyway. I am definitely going to streamline everything and be decisive because I know the pressure will lift and I will be able to stop thinking about all money I have wasted buying stuff that I am not using.

    1. Meant to say I'm gradually trying to simplify things. You're doing a fab job already! :)

  4. Two cups of tea, peace and quiet and I'm set up for the day.

  5. I need at least one cup of coffee and quiet time before I am human and can talk to anyone without biting their head off. Then it is out for a walk, or a walk on the treadmill. Only then am I fit to be around other humans.

    God bless.

    1. Oh gosh yes ... exactly that. Only the dogs are safe near me first thing in the morning :-)
