Things That Mean Something

I don't have a lot of stuff.

Those of you that have followed me for a while know that over the years I have whittled away at my possessions and it's still an ongoing thing.  I'll never end up with just a Pug and a back-pack, but I'm most definintely treading on this earth a lot lighter than I used to, and it is still an ongoing process.  This next, and possibly final house move will see me with even fewer possessions to my name.

But I do like things that mean something.

This wall for instance holds happy family holiday memories, a framed card from a blog reader that is a watercolour of one of my favourite places, little plaques with words that resonate ...

... and something that makes me smile.

And reminds me on a daily basis not to take life too seriously!!

Something a certain little girl does so well  😄

    1. It is, well spotted. And doesn't the little 50p charity shop frame match the print so well :-)

  2. Looking at pug makes the phrase 'it's a dog's life' full of meaning.

    1. She makes me feel relaxed just looking at her, she's still in the same position now ... many hours later. If that was me I'd have cramp!!

  3. Your pug is so darling, Sue. We could learn a lot from our pets, couldn't we. I'm going to be downsizing soon also, as we've been looking for a house for years now but just can't seem to find the right one, for one reason or another. Most of my possessions mean something to me too, but even those are going to be too much in a smaller place. We'll see how that all goes when the time comes. Love, Andrea xoxo

    1. She really is isn't she, but she can be a stroppy little madam when she wants to be ;-)

We don't have to rush to find new places if ours sells as we have the Van we can stay in, with just our most important possessions put into storage round the corner. And we have a flat on the holiday park provisionally booked for the 3 months the caravan park closes in Winter just in case we haven't found the right places to move to.

  4. We could all learn a lot from dogs. Eat, play, sleep repeat! My friends don't understand that 'stuff' doesn't float my boat at all.

    1. My friends 'sort' of get it, but they still bring things round for me with the idea that 'just this one little thing won't matter will it'. Not many of the 'little things' stay for long ... I've learned that the accepting graciously is more than enough. The selling on or donating is just a consequence of them not listening ... not my problem!!

  5. The viewing went really well, it's a couple that currently live on the Welsh/English border that want to move back to live near family in Llandudno. It's a good day for chillin :-)

  9. I am still working on downsizing and simplifying my life. It seems like a never ending process right now. At this point in time I am going through my clothing and if it doesn't fit, or I don't love it on....well it is going. I admire the way you have managed to downsize and simplify your life and wonder if I will ever get there.

    God bless.

  12. Don't you hate it when you accidentally delete your own comment:( I was commenting about downsizing our home 12 months ago and it's not as easy as one thinks even though we've been researching tiny homes and shipping container homes for years. Gorgeous photo of Suky♥

    1. Gosh yes, I've done that so many times ... and it's always a nice long interesting one have you noticed!!

I'm doing all sorts of research into what I want just recently, but until I have the money from the sale of Isfryn in the bank I won't be starting the process of buying at all. I find if I start looking at things I start wanting to have them straight away. I want it to be as quick and smooth a process as possible and having the money in the bank will start that off.
