That's What I Do

So true  😃

I love this poster, I thought I might buy a copy for my wall, but then I thought NO, I'll save my money and just put it here on the blog instead.

I'm so much happier living my life unlike other peoples.

I have for most of it in fact, the only thing that used to spoil it for me was permanently explaining myself to others.  Now I just don't bother, they either 'get it', 'accept it for what it is' or ask a genuine question and get an honest answer.

I'm happier being me.

  1. Love the poster. I have a magnet on my fridge that shows a women reading while seated in front of a massive bookcase - the caption says "people are ok - but I prefer the company of books"! Not only did I buy it for myself but a friend gifted me with the very same magnet as he said it was "so me"!
I started in a new library book Friday night - finished it when I got up at 6am Saturday morning - and then spent the day reading two more mysteries. I've got a few chores to finish this morning and then I'm going to read the latest form Alexander McCall-Smith! It's pouring out and is due to rain all day tomorrow as well so no obligation to leave the apt.! :-)

  2. I love the poster and love your attitude, I am the same: often see things I want - but don't buy, take a pic and move on. Sometimes copying/creating something for pennies rather than buying the real thing gives more pleasure too and I think things like the poster are only fun when they are shared - which you have done on Blogland! on your wall it will quickly become boring/same/seen it too often so well done you!

  3. I love that poster too! No one should have to explain their life to others. Like you said they either get it or they don't!

  4. After a lifetime of tent camping, caravanning and almost but not quite getting a campervan - the 2nd poster is the one that appeals to me. So that one is now framed and prominently in my home.

  5. I agree - it just takes some people longer than others to come to that conclusion.

  6. Wise words, it is taking me a long time to not give a toss what other people think of me or my actions but I am getting there.I have had two moments this past year that have surprised me, one is standing up to my ex husband after him not visiting our son in hospital over his many, many admissions in the last twelve years and deciding that when he was to have brain surgery that he wanted to be there, it was hell for me and my son and I had been through so much together leading up to this event, the last person I wanted at the hospital with me was him, boy did I make my feelings known and requested that he visited the next day when he was out of danger, I didn't know I could be so assertive, then one of my son's carers was late giving him his medications as she chose to have a coffee and cigarette with a colleague then lied saying he wasn't in his flat, she cried and begged me to accept her apology but for the first time ever I refused an apology and reported her. This is a new side of me that I quite like and now have the mindset that if somebody doesn't like what I say or do that's their problem not mine. This doesn't mean I am going to be a nasty lady but I will stand up for myself and those I love. By the way ,my eldest son was with me and his brother on the day of the surgery, he kept me together and was great with his brother and this is what my son wanted on the day and his father saw him when he came out of intensive care so everybody was happy, my husband was in the room when I had a go at my ex and was very wide eyed so he won't be upsetting me anytime soon !!!

  8. It really doesn't occur to some people that you don't have to be like everybody else. The ones that really annoy me are the those who think you're mad because you don't want to constantly spend money, or surround yourself with 'stuff' all the time. If only they realised life can be relatively simple.

  11. The cat poster is brilliant, it could be me if I substituted the wine for beer or rum! x
