In being happy with what you have
And happy in your own skin
Rejoice quietly when you get there
Trust me when I tell you, I will be rejoicing.
Absolutely right. Contentment is a fantastic place. xx
Indeed that lifestyle should be positively encouraged, for the sake of ourselves and our world.
Absolutely! And so counter-culture. But this year..the year I turn 50...I'm done with trying to keep up (not that I did a very good job of it). Contentment is the only way to peace of mind. xo
Yep definitely. ☺
If only everyone felt like this.
Being happy with what one has leads to inner peace and a joy that one can share readily with others.God bless.
I am learning that at 63. I felt like I should always be striving for something. I've discovered it's quite peaceful to just 'be'.
So very true and what a beautiful quote.Happy New Year X
I feel much the same Sue but it's a good job that many people don't. Without them wanting more, the economy would fall apart. However when they get to 'our time of life' I'm happy for them also discover that it's fine just "being".
Our economy will never fall apart, but it does need to learn to adapt and stay with the times. People are starting to come back to wanting more 'services' and less things, and that can only be a good thing. Once shops stop pushing unnecessary things at us and smaller businesses build up again offering us services, as indeed some High Streets are already starting to do, things will find a balance that will be workable. Any change takes time though and unfortunately there will always be casualties in the form of people being unwilling or too slow to adapt.
I don't need much but I do want to learn to enjoy the calm more.
Spot on Sue:) Belated Happy New Year♥
This resonates so much with me. I have never been driven towards such goals as success and riches. If asked, I would have always answered that a life filled with harmony and peace and quiet are my goals. Happy New Year!
Exactly ! love this quote
