Time Out, Coffee ... and Don't Get Arrested

Gosh I'm feeling like a time out at the moment.

Inspiration has temporarily dried up leaving me feeling very strange.  I'm halfway through three books and not that inspired to finish any of them.  I should be planning out next weeks rations but haven't even started yet.

I have hoovered.  😃

But perhaps I'll just wander off and search for a coffee.

Because ...

  1. Golly, Sue, I feel a bit like that this morning. I have no interest in anything, least of all the ironing basket. And I haven't even hoovered ;0)

    1. I think a lot of people seemed to hit a wall yesterday, I wonder if it's something to do with the change of season. I even Googled the date and all I got was that the world was reported as going to end on 24th September 2022 .... well were all still here defying the odds, so things can only get better. :-)

I don't have an ironing basket ... phew!!

  2. Hopefully it's just a slight blip.
Enjoy your coffee. I've just this minute made one for myself. Xx

    1. The sun is out today and I have a line full of washing blowing in the breeze, I've also just pruned all the tomato plants, so today is a much better day. :-)

  3. Sounds like you are tired. If your weather is anything like ours today that does not help either.

Talking of getting arrested - have you seen the new Chris Packham documentary Is It Time to Break The Law? (Channel 4)

Quite fascinating, very moving, although I got insanely p*ssed at Roger Hallam (founder of XR) who was positively goading Packham into doing something illegal. I am afraid I lost any sympathy I might have had for the organisation in that moment and am unlikely to get it back.

    1. On and off really heavy rain all week has no doubt left the air all around us depressed and we caught it. I really don't like the methodology of XR, I never have ... there HAS to be better ways to get such a serious message across.

  4. Feeling this with you - now just hoping this will publish because I think I need a new I pad and that's not going to happen anytime soon!

  5. Must be something in the air today. I didn't get showered and dressed until lunchtime today despite being up at 5am with the puppy! xxx

    1. I was up and dressed, but then slumped on the armchair binge watching YouTube, until my brain complained. Obviously it was just an off day for lots of us. I have now finished one of the books and am almost through the other one which I need to finish by Wednesday so I can lend it to my Mum. Today is a better day. :-)

    1. I don't have any of my childhood books now, Dad used to encourage us to donate to the scout jumble sales, he was a scout leader ... so they all went there. No more 'House at Pooh Corner' for Me. :-(

  7. Give yourself some wriggle room, have a break, enjoy the coffee (I totally agree with that little poster) and the rest will take care of itself in time. xx

  8. My family would say the final coffee cup suits me to a t! I’ll be glad when autumn finally arrives-this morning was short sleeve weather and now it’s blowing a hoolie with rain. At least I did the ironing and cleaned the bathroom! Catriona

    1. All these folks mentioning ironing ... I really am the odd one out. I never iron, it's just one less thing to worry about. :-)

Today is a gloriously sunny day so I've just pruned all the leaves off the tomato plants so that the fruits can sunbathe for a day and have a bit more of a ripening session.

  9. Okay. That last one is hilarious. I'm heading for a large cup of self care this very minute. Thanks for the encouragement.

    1. My pleasure, when my caffeine levels plummet it would seem that I do too ... I've never been arrested though. :-)

    1. Oh it did, far too many coffees may have been consumed yesterday, but it did me good.

  11. I should be making stuffed cabbage, but don't feel like it. I should be baking, but ditto on that. I even had coffee this morning, but with the weather being blah just want to curl up in my chair and work on my knitting.

    God bless.

    1. Sometimes you just have to do what your brain tells you to do in the moment, and ignore all the things that you were supposed to do. xx

  12. I can relate. Some days I hop up and hit the ground running. Other days, I wonder how in the world I did! Coffee helps. Have a cozy evening!

  14. Sue, I've kind of felt that way all summer. I'm blaming it on the heat. But there are some days that just feel oppressive and I'll check with my family and they were feeling it too. It's a shift in the atmosphere I suppose. I hope you get your inspiration back soon! Hopefully mine will follow :)

    1. Very unusually Alan also felt really down for the whole day, and Alan doesn't feel down/negative/sad usually ever!

  15. How odd.
I've been feeling dull and unmotivated today - with lots I should be doing - so I decided to rebel, sit down with my laptop and ( unusually for so late in the day ) have a good strong cup of coffee.
It's doing the trick and thanks to your blog I see I'm not the only one experiencing what I will now refer to as Seasonal Slump!

    1. It's strange isn't it, so many of us were really looking forward to cooler Autumnal weather and then this slump hits us ... there's something in the air methinks!

  16. I've been quite the opposite but then I have just arrived in Scotland and looking forward to one or two weeks of down time after the last few chaotic months. Hope you enjoyed your coffee and wake up tomorrow feeling on top of the world!

    1. I'm so glad that you feel the opposite to this, if anyone deserves some sunny optimism and feeling happy it's you, after the time you've had recently. The coffee helped, and yes, the next day was so much better. xx
