It's beginning to take shape.
I'm pleased I get to use my favourite curtains in here, I originally wanted them for my bedroom but they are much too long for the positioning of the curtain poles in there so the living room has been honoured with them instead. I think the one curtain at each window look is just about passable, it doesn't annoy me anyway which is all that I ask for. Unfortunately I can't have one at each end as that annoying little gas meter cupboard is there and I really don't want to pin up or shorten the curtains as they will be moving with me again.
Here's a little Spot the Difference for you.
It's easy ... there are only two additions. 😄
I put four bags of food into the cupboards after hanging the curtains yesterday. They absorbed it all very well ... if they are still on the wall with all that weight I will add some more today 😆
Now it's time to load up the car with todays move-ables.
Looks like you are making a cosy little home. I've never lived in a flat.ReplyDelete
The last time I lived in a flat it was 1978, the year I got married!!Delete
I remember you posting about that! I think this one will be a bit warmer and with your new washer you won't have dripping hand washing all over the place.Delete
Ahh ... you've just reminded me (somehow) that I also lived in a flat when I first moved to Barrow in Furness in 1986 ... it also had wet washing dripping all over the place :-)Delete
I can spot one difference in the shape of a beautiful little cutie pie. I can't see the other one though? Your flat looks really cosy. It's jolly handy that you can move a bit a time. It's so stressful when everything has to be moved in one go, especially when moving late in life and having accumulated far too much 'stuff'. I really want to get rid of all the 'come in handy one day' things, but don't know where to start.ReplyDelete
The other is very close to the little bundle of fur ;-)Delete
The best way to declutter is to pack away all the things that you don't use, or haven't used for a year or so. Put the box or bags away and if you don't need to go into them for a set period of time you know you really don't need the things in them. You can donate the box or bag as it is or have one last look through and then give it away.
How strange is that? I could have sworn both pictures had a radio. Guess I was too busy looking at Suky. She's gorgeous. Thank you for the tip on decluttering.Delete
I meant I moved late in life, which was extremely stressful. I read it back and it sounded a bit rude, like I was inferring that you were elderly xReplyDelete
Haha ...I'm no spring chicken, this is bloody tiring even in small doses. ;-)Delete
You are sleeping well at night then?Delete
Yes, but I usually do anyway 😄Delete
Sukie and a radio. Looking good so far.ReplyDelete
Yep, I had to take the radio from the Van, it was just sooooo quiet working there on my own with nothing but the sound of Suky snoring!!Delete
Haha ... well saved. She doesn't answer to an ie ;-)Delete
Suky and I was going to say a Google nest on the top of the little cupboard behind her. I now see it is a radio.Delete
You are getting all moved nicely.
It's going pretty smoothly up to now 🙂Delete
It is coming together very well and looks very comfortable already!ReplyDelete
It's really starting to feel like home.Delete
I think Suki likes it.ReplyDelete
She knows where we're going now if I call it 'little house' 😃Delete
It's taking shape, all those little bits and pieces start to make it home. It's been tipping down here, I hope it's better weather for you. XReplyDelete
It's just been raining at nights up to now, which has been a real godsend 🙂Delete
It's looking cosy, Sue, especially with books close at hand and room to put down a mug of coffee ;) Suky looks well at home!ReplyDelete
A house isn't a home for me until I have my books close by. I managed to get a bookcase for £8 at the last car boot sale we went to, so once that's painted I can have more of my books out 😃Delete
The pup and the ?heater clock the plugged in item above pups head. I think the curtains look stylish each to a side.ReplyDelete
Yes, but it's a radio 🙂Delete
It's a different way to have curtains but I think it will work.
Coming along very nicely.ReplyDelete
I'm pleased at the end of each day when I step back 😃Delete
I love the curtains like that Sue. One all-important pug has been added andone clock has been taken away. All begins to look like home.ReplyDelete
It seems to work doesn't it.Delete
It's usually Suky that is the difference in photos, she does like to add herself to the picture 😄
Any wait to see what you do with your new place, you’ve got an eye for detail and colours. Will you be selling the caravan too now? Glad you’re getting the chance to live your life and to be you. You’re an inspiration. XReplyDelete
The Van will be going on the market next week ... it's time for a new adventure 😃Delete
It's coming along well! I like your new sofa. I spot the difference of an added beautiful Suky and her music! Don't wear yourself out with the move - you will get there. You are off to a very good start!ReplyDelete
I have to admit to zonking out last night halfway through Nadiya Bakes. But I'm taking a complete day off from moving stuff and cleaning today so I'll catch up. 😃Delete
I like your two additions. Nothing more required :)ReplyDelete
They do complete the room don't they 😄Delete
Absolutely wonderful so far. Love the cupboards so near the stove... handy! ~Andrea xoxoReplyDelete
Thanks 😃 It's a quite well thought out kitchen isn't it 🙂Delete
Looks fantastic already Sue:) Love the bargain sofa, curtains, books, plant, radio but my favourite is Suky♥ xxReplyDelete
I'm getting there ... phew 😃Delete
Yep, Suky completes the room, and my life 💖
Just caught up on your last few posts and your flat looks so lovely and I spotted the differences :) Although that meter box was a pain for your curtains, it makes a good little shelf/table! Hope you and Suky will be very happy there xReplyDelete
I'll just have to be careful what I put on it though as the curtains cover it at night. 🙂Delete
