It's Taking Shape ... & Spot the Difference

It's beginning to take shape.

I'm pleased I get to use my favourite curtains in here, I originally wanted them for my bedroom but they are much too long for the positioning of the curtain poles in there so the living room has been honoured with them instead.  I think the one curtain at each window look is just about passable, it doesn't annoy me anyway which is all that I ask for.  Unfortunately I can't have one at each end as that annoying little gas meter cupboard is there and I really don't want to pin up or shorten the curtains as they will be moving with me again.

Here's a little Spot the Difference for you.

It's easy ... there are only two additions.  😄

I put four bags of food into the cupboards after hanging the curtains yesterday.  They absorbed it all very well ... if they are still on the wall with all that weight I will add some more today 😆

Now it's time to load up the car with todays move-ables.

  1. Looks like you are making a cosy little home. I've never lived in a flat.

    1. The last time I lived in a flat it was 1978, the year I got married!!

    2. I remember you posting about that! I think this one will be a bit warmer and with your new washer you won't have dripping hand washing all over the place.

    3. Ahh ... you've just reminded me (somehow) that I also lived in a flat when I first moved to Barrow in Furness in 1986 ... it also had wet washing dripping all over the place :-)

  2. I can spot one difference in the shape of a beautiful little cutie pie. I can't see the other one though? Your flat looks really cosy. It's jolly handy that you can move a bit a time. It's so stressful when everything has to be moved in one go, especially when moving late in life and having accumulated far too much 'stuff'. I really want to get rid of all the 'come in handy one day' things, but don't know where to start.

    1. The other is very close to the little bundle of fur ;-)

The best way to declutter is to pack away all the things that you don't use, or haven't used for a year or so. Put the box or bags away and if you don't need to go into them for a set period of time you know you really don't need the things in them. You can donate the box or bag as it is or have one last look through and then give it away.

    2. How strange is that? I could have sworn both pictures had a radio. Guess I was too busy looking at Suky. She's gorgeous. Thank you for the tip on decluttering.

  3. I meant I moved late in life, which was extremely stressful. I read it back and it sounded a bit rude, like I was inferring that you were elderly x

    1. Yep, I had to take the radio from the Van, it was just sooooo quiet working there on my own with nothing but the sound of Suky snoring!!

    2. Suky and I was going to say a Google nest on the top of the little cupboard behind her. I now see it is a radio.

You are getting all moved nicely.

      God bless.

    1. A house isn't a home for me until I have my books close by. I managed to get a bookcase for £8 at the last car boot sale we went to, so once that's painted I can have more of my books out 😃

It's a different way to have curtains but I think it will work.

It's usually Suky that is the difference in photos, she does like to add herself to the picture 😄

  13. Any wait to see what you do with your new place, you’ve got an eye for detail and colours. Will you be selling the caravan too now? Glad you’re getting the chance to live your life and to be you. You’re an inspiration. X

  18. Just caught up on your last few posts and your flat looks so lovely and I spotted the differences :) Although that meter box was a pain for your curtains, it makes a good little shelf/table! Hope you and Suky will be very happy there x

    1. I'll just have to be careful what I put on it though as the curtains cover it at night. 🙂
