I've been and gone and shopped again ... you knew I would didn't you!!
Just fresh stuff and some nuts that were on offer in the middle aisles, I purposefully avoided looking at any of the gardening supplies that were there ... well I might have browsed slightly but I stood firm and carried on walking past. I don't know why a pot of Parsley made it's way into my trolley as I have some growing outside the front door in the old tin bath.
But it looks nice sat next to it's new best mate Basil in my new wooden box. 💓
(Don't worry I lined the box with a nice strong polythene bag.)
Alan treated me to a breakfast cup of coffee and a toasted teacake at Booths after my doctors appointment and before we shopped ... always go shopping on a full-ish tummy ... so while I was there I bought a pack of my favourite bread rolls and a birthday card for my soon-to-be fourteen year old grandson, where do the years go!!
That was another £4.05 spent.
I need to sit down and work out how much I've spent this month now that we are about to go over into May. Gosh this year is going by quickly.
I have a feeling that I have just busted my budget. 😕
Sue xx
Thanks so much for all the good wishes and comments on the last post. I have posted again to move it down the list as other peoples health issues on blogs can be deathly boring ... or maybe that's just me, I would never have been a very sympathetic or patient doctor!! 😐
Just read about your health scare, high blood pressure is a sneaky so and so and as you say you don't know it's there until it's checked out, and what a wait to see a specialist ! We know only too well about these health support issues, our son with epilepsy has sadly had an increase in his seizures ( two nasty one in Morrisons ) two more really scary ones yesterday and we cannot get hold of the consultant or epilepsy nurse, three times now his appointments have been cancelled and so many people are having problems like this countrywide ,thankfully we are so lucky to have oxygen ,suction kit, emergency medication and defibrillator and a recent purchase of a lightweight wheelchair as he is paralysed on one side following the seizures for a while and it's difficult to move him. Your breakaway is such a lovely location, maybe you can have a few more similar breaks, the best medicine :)
ReplyDeleteSorry don't know why it came up as anonymous, Chrissie x
DeleteI knew it was there in the background, I have reached the heights of 220/110 back in 2011 but never as high as it was in the hospital this time. Hopefully it's all being sorted out by these tablets now, some of the others caused such bad side effects all tablets were stopped for a couple of years, hence the gradual rise to new dizzying heights I guess.
DeleteI'm so sorry to hear that your son has had more seizures, it's worrying how over stretched the NHS is at the minute isn't it, the people that really need the help are being let down. I hope you can continue to care for him and that you get some help.
We have another break coming up at the end of May. :-)
Goodness that's high ! Thank you for your kind wishes.x
DeleteThat was the figure from 12 years ago, this time it was 240/130. Yikes!!
DeleteLovely selection of fresh food and nuts, and I really like that almond milk from Aldi, on cereal or just to drink (can't abide it in coffee though). I'm not a particularly sympathetic nurse either!
ReplyDeleteIt's a really good value almond milk isn't it. I only really use it on cereal or in my baking so it lasts me ages.
DeleteI'm glad it's not just me. ;-)
What a lovely haul of veg. We have been using unsweetened oat milk for about a year now but I buy Asda dried milk for my coffee. Catriona
ReplyDeleteI do love a nice vegetable shop, even seeing it in the supermarket trolley lifts my spirits.
DeleteOh, that's proper wholesome and healthy shopping so maybe it does not count :-), xx
ReplyDeleteOh it counts, lots of greens ... all I have to do now is eat them. :-)
DeleteYour shopping looks so healthy and appealing. Fresh herbs always look good against terracotta don't they - lovely x
ReplyDeleteAlison in Wales x
They really do, and against wood. ;-)
DeleteThat all looks very healthy and just what you need when you've been poorly x
ReplyDeleteExactly that, my body is obviously calling out for greens, hence the hands reaching out for them all.
DeleteThat does look like a healthy basket! People laugh at us as we take a pit of fresh basil with us to all the festivals we trade at! xxx
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of travelling with a Basil plant, it's something I must remedy on the next self-catering holiday. :-)
