Wetting the Baby's Head

We walked the dogs along the canal last night on their favourite route, it leads to the pub ... a very dog friendly pub.  We had a mission to accomplish as well as having a dog walk and our tea there.

We had to wet the baby's head in good old fashioned style.

Welcome to the world little Finley-James Wright, 7lb 7oz of perfection who came into the world just after 10pm on Tuesday 15th August ... three weeks early.

He is our third Great-Grandchild, his older brother is five this year.

His Mum Ellie is still in hospital after an emergency caesarean, but both she and Finley-James are doing well now.

His Dad, Liam my grandson, is absolutely besotted with this beautiful bundle of joy.

Happy Families.

Sue xx

  1. For Dog's sake - you don't look old enough to have grand-children, let alone GREATS!

Many congratulations to all, xx 🎉 🍾 💐

    1. I know .... these kids of mine are aging me nicely aren't they, and I barely have a grey hair on my head, literally.

It's all my eldest sons fault, he has three sons and a daughter, of which two of the sons are supplying all the great-grandkids. My youngest son is just happy and settled with his partner ... phew!!

    1. I was 20 when I had my eldest son Simon, and then 38 when I became Nana Sue to Liam, and then 58 when I became Great-Nana Sue to Mason, Liam's eldest. So I have four grand-children and three great-grand children. Five boys and two girls.

    1. He's got a good head of hair hasn't he, they were very surprised. Alan is an old sea dog indeed, he was a submariner in the Royal Navy for 25 years.

  15. If you'll activate the 'contact me' on your profile, I'll send you email instructions of how to more comfortably get in and out of bed after a C-section. These instructions are what a friend showed me after my C-section nearly 43 years ago.
Welcome to the world little Finley-James!

    1. Thanks for the offer, but I had two C-sections myself so I already know this and Ellie has already learnt how to manage from the nurses taking care of her. I've no doubt there's some new advice these days from when we had ours. 🙂

  20. Congratulations to the parents - and to you of course. Liam looks pretty overwhelmed, as most fathers do when they first meet their tiny gorgeous new heart stopper. I hope the recuperation from the C-section is smooth and you get plenty of cuddles.

    1. They were both very shocked at the turn of events. It was an induction that went wrong very dramatically, I think poor Liam was in a state of shock and relief.
