She wandered off the road onto our land in a terrible state, with horrific injuries after an untreated case of fly strike. We got creams and antibiotics off the vet to treat her. The t-shirt and tape were to keep the cream in place and the flies and dirt away.
We kept her after her first owner said all she was good for was killing. She's been with us and Will the shepherd, for the last three years.
What a sweet story. Glad Ethel is doing well. Your life is so completely different than mine which I think is one of the reasons that I love reading blogs. I learn so much about others and find it so interesting. So good to see the things that are different and the things that are the same about people all over the world. Thanks so much for your thoughtful posts! I always look forward to them!
I remember your posts about Ethel, Sue, but can't remember what happened to her afterwards?
ReplyDeleteShe's still with us ♥️
DeleteShe had a year getting over her injuries, then Jasmine the lamb last year and now this year a ram lamb called Joey.
She's just been shorn and although she still has her arthritic hip, she's a very happy sheep 🐑
I'm so pleased to hear that. It's really made my day Sue :)
DeleteLooks as though she is happy with her jacket, why the tape?

Oh bless her, I'm pleased she's still going strong.
ReplyDeleteShe is ... and she knows her name now, as does Joey :-)
DeleteI remember that. I was very invested in her well being :)
ReplyDeleteWe still are :-)
DeleteI remember Ethel! It is always nice to see her and her young ones.
ReplyDeleteI hate seeing her limping around, but she's a happy sheep and that is what matters 🙂

ReplyDeleteI think blogland is home to such a wide range of wonderful people, there's always something good to read and learn from.
DeleteThe world would be a strange place if we were all the same 🙂
I am so glad that Ethel is doing well. Love her jacket in this photo.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
