Good Food Days ... and a Note

Most days I start well, somedays I even manage to keep it up until bedtime ... but good food days really do make a difference to how I feel.

This mornings breakfast was pretty much my perfect breakfast,  and healthwise it had two of my five a day, plus nuts, seeds, protein in the form of peanut butter and a good base of vanilla flavoured plant based yogurt, which is fortified with calcium and vitamins.

It was really filling,  but I still managed to go back to the jar for another spoonful of peanut butter 😄

We'll see how long this keeps me satisfied for, but most days this week I've just been eating two meals a day, with a coffee and snack mid afternoon to keep me going until teatime.  Not out of any sense of deprivation or dieting it's just happened naturally, so I'm going with the flow.

Of course other days I start with a slice of toast or a biscuit, and things go downhill from there ... but we won't speak about them while I'm feeling so virtuous  🤣😃🙃

Note to all readers!

As lots of blog writers will have noticed Spam comments have been building and building in recent months.  We've had offers of massages, long rambling text in other languages and some downright rude ones telling us who to marry and who to be aware of not marrying.  Some blog readers will have noticed a tiny proportion of these slipping through the net, you have no idea of the large volume of these that we actually get!!

The latest wave that has just started actually look like proper comments.  They come across as new readers that have just discovered your blog, but always start off by appearing on old posts.  They are always Anonymous as most are actually computer generated or mass produced.  A lot of us Bloggers allow Anonymous comments as we are aware that some of our readers do not want to sign up to any platforms, but we are having a struggle weeding out real from fake comments.

For now on my Blogs I will continue to allow Anonymous comments but ONLY if there is a name signed at the end.  As usual ALL comments on blog posts over 3 days old will be diverted to my email address for moderation by me before publication.

Thank you.

Sue xx

  2. I noticed the uptick in those kind of blog posts awhile back and decided to try moderation for awhile. Now I have noticed that they are no longer (or very few of them) are showing up. I think they might have moved on from North America to Europe and the UK.

Your breakfast looks lovely. I will need to get mine going shortly.

    God bless.

    1. Yep, it would seem we have the Spammers! Enjoy your breakfast 🙂

  3. I have just had my breakfast - Greek yogurt with apricots and a large mug of tea!
I too find that most days now I only eat two meals. If I have breakfast I'll have a small snack of fruit or cheese mid-afternoon but most days it's brunch and supper - and it's happened naturally (although I am trying to lose weight). I've started practising intermittent fasting and I'm actually finding it to be quite easy - and it has had a very noticeable and drastic effect on my heartburn - Gone! Haven't had an antacid in weeks.
Enjoy your day - and so sorry that you have to deal with the extra annoyance of these computer generated idiots!

    1. It's not just me, every blogger with a large readership is being spammed these days ☹️. It's very annoying and very time-consuming.

  4. I am getting quite a few in Arabic but as I don’t know what they say, they go in the bin.

    1. Yes, there was and still are quite a few of the Arabic ones arriving. These new ones read almost like normal comments ... and then you realise that everyone is saying virtually the same thing 🤣🤣

  5. Spammers are a pain in the rear, used American credit cards WTF. I'm trying to get my head in a good pushed to try and lose a stone at the moment but it's hard. I'm sure it will happen. Tx

    1. Gosh, losing a stone woul be a good thing for me too ... but I'm not going to stress over it. I love predictive when it off on a tangent 🤣

  6. These spammers are a real p.i.t.a. I don't have a huge number now I moderate comments, but some still slip through the net.

Well done when you can have healthy food days. I am now very histamine- and sulphite-intolerent and HAVING to stick to a low-histamine, non-dairy diet - this even includes things like various items of fruit and even chocolate! Other things suppress the DAO enzymes which help to mop up surplus histamines (from foods and in my case, pollen too). I hope I will be passed on to see someone at Immunology but that won't be for a while I don't think. So my plate right now is rather "Vegan with meat on the side"!! Life was easier when it was just allergic asthma.

Two meals a day - you will be fading away!!

    1. It sounds like you are having to be very careful with what you eat at the moment. I doubt I'll be fading away any time soon, I'm at least two stone heavier than the weight I feel comfortable at.

  7. Me too Sue, and these wretched steroids have put back every ounce of the 6 lbs I'd dieted off and judging by the amount I scoffed today, even more! I think my husband thinks I'm just being piggy - he doesn't realize that the steroids make even a bucket of wallpaper paste look appetizing!!

    1. Oh gosh that sounds dreadful, poor you, but sorry I had to laugh ... there'll be no decorating going on in your house then!! 🤣🤣

  8. Wow Sue your breakfast looks super:) I must try harder as Mon-Fri I have the same breakfast which is a toasted English multigrain muffin (as in bread). It would be a royal pain having to deal with all the spam comments, hopefully you can gain control:)

    1. I doubt any of us can, it's mostly computer generated.

  9. Your breakfast looks similar to mine (on certain days) but I've never tried peanut butter into the mix, so to speak. I do love it, so I might give it a go!
Hopefully the spammers will get bored soon and move on :)

    1. Try it, it's delicious ... a real game changer.

It's more serious than just plain spamming, sometimes it's click bait and allows avenues to let viruses in to the computers of anyone that visits the websites they promote. Dangerous stuff ☹️
