Missing Blogging Buddy

One of our number is missing!!

Does anyone know what's happened to Marlene … Everyday Life, I've only been away for a day and I feel like I've missed something?

I do hope she's okay and not being plagued by trolls and fuckwits again.

If you read this Marlene, get in touch … we need to know you're okay.  You're an important part of the gang.

  4. She said she had decided to stop permanently as it wasn't working for her.
Although she has stopped before and started again....we shall see.....I hate it when frugal bloggers stop I need them to keep me on the straight and narrow!

    1. What a shame, I know she has been chopping and changing a bit and struggling with what she wanted to do but I thought she would work her way through it. Yes, we definitely need the frugal girls to carry on … the pressure is on you now Sue ;-)

    3. T. has been in touch. Don't forget we are all here for you, let us know if/when you start blogging again. You have a lot of good things to say, and your own blog is most definitely the place where it should be safe to say them!!

  6. I hate it when favourite bloggers disappear. There have been many over the years. I loved to read about Sue's life at The Quince Tree but she hasn't blogged for over a year, she has some fabulous recipes. Missed Pam at A New Life in Wales, although she is slowly making a comeback. Sometimes I go through the list on my Bloglovin list and it's surprising just how many haven't blogged in a long time or deleted their blogs. I so so hope Marlene comes back and maybe even making her blog private, for invited people only. (I hope I'd be one of them!)

    1. It can be a shock when some bloggers disappear. Apart from the few massive shockers, the suicide, the death and the being bullied into submission, we have lost some good bloggers over the years that have simply run out of steam. It can happen to the best of us … I know.

The Quince Tree is on my sidebar if anyone wants a read at Sue's blog, I hadn't realised it was over year since her last post.

My own change of tack upset some people but not as much as the reasons for it upset me, so I now blog in the way I find suits me best. I love that so many of my readers and followers have stuck by me even if they haven't always totally understood. Sometimes it's best to be a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma.

  7. Definitely, we should all always be here for each other.

  8. I don't know Marlene, but you are all right about the blogging community - earlier this year I had a terrible time and I am honestly not sure how I would have coped with it if I had not had the support of some awesome people I know through this community.

It helps me to hang onto a 'meme' I saw on Pinterest: "There are 7 billion people on the planet and you let the opinion of one f***wit spoil your life?"

    1. That's a really good quote to hang on to!

It's amazing isn't it that we all seem to be programmed to believe and remember the few negative things thrown at us and forget all the amazing compliments and good things we gather in our lives. It's almost as though we are hard-wired to self-destruct.

I'm glad you got yourself back on track, your blog is looking amazing … I'm still drooling over some of your quilts, haha, that's not a nice picture is it!!

    2. Oh don't worry about the drool - I consider it a compliment!

Dogs have left far worse on them, and being 100% cotton all the quilts go happily into the washing machine 😀

  9. I was sad to see Marlene had closed her blog down as I loved all her posts and yeah I see that Marlene is back which is wonderful news:) It never fails to amaze or sadden me that people get pleasure in writing mean comments which they get a kick from:( I also realise blogging can be time consuming and sometimes bloggers need a break but when it feels like they are being forced to stop because of awful comments then that is most upsetting. Onwards and upwards Marlene xx

    1. She's here, there and everywhere our Marlene, but she will hopefully stay with us over the long-term, she knows now that we have her back when necessary.
