Reminded ...

Yesterdays little foray into filming the contents of the freezer drawers and putting them on my YouTube channel for all the world to see, was a really good way of reminding me exactly what was in there and it has already encouraged me to use some of the things that I found lurking in the depths.

This mornings mid-morning drink instead of being another cup of coffee was a delicious smoothie made with some of the banana, half of the baby spinach and half an apple.  I will have another one tomorrow to use up the other 'halves'.

Very tasty and a very pleasant change.

But I still need a coffee to wake me up, time to put the kettle on methinks 😁

Thanks for everyone that watched the little clips and special thanks to those of you who clicked on the thumbs up and the couple of you that subscribed.  It makes me realise why those YouTubers I watch regularly always beg on every video that they put up for likes, comments and subscribers to help with their sites algorithms.  Of the almost 500 people that viewed the videos only a few liked them and even less subscribed ... it's a good job I didn't do it for the numbers.  😄

I guess it's similar to the statistics we get on our blogs, so many read from all over the world, a much lesser number subscribe and only a few comment.  But it was really interesting to delve into the facts and figures of a new media.  I'm off to check my blog stats now, I haven't done that for ages.

  1. I liked your videos, I just didn't click on anything. I often find that if I "like" or subscribe, I end up getting all sorts of spam and links that I don't want to follow. I am so cautious about what I click on these days.
You did a great job, tho!

    1. That doesn't happen on YouTube videos or blog posts, it just indicates that you like or agree with what he person has said and is like a thank you for their work, it doesn't give us any contact information at all. YouTubers earn more the more subscribers they have ... although I'll never get to the level required to even start earning.

  2. I, for one, loved your videos. Please do more if the fancy takes you Sue! That's a delicious looking way to use all those frozen bananas too :)

    1. I was considering filming the shopping for the weeks when I do the '£10 for a complete weeks food' challenge within a challenge. But it is a lot more time consuming than doing a blog post, so I'll see.

They are tasty in a smoothie, it seems to be that every time I buy more than one banana some end up in the freezer, I just don't like to eat them that often. One banana at a time for the foreseeable future it is then ;-)

    2. That's why I only buy 2 at a time, Sue, they get wasted otherwise.
I can imagine how much more time consuming it is to make a video. Just see how you feel about it later 👍😊

  3. I enjoyed your videos very much. I saw your post very soon after you posted it and I'm happy to say I clicked the first likes. I was happy to get up the next morning and see how many more likes you had received!

  4. Can you explain why having someone subscribe is desirable? Ah - now I've read precious replies I can see. Ok, I'm happy to do it. I thought it was just to let "them" track you!

    1. Yes, it's to simply let the producer of the video know that someone has watched it and enjoyed it, almost like a thank you for the work, and of course for the YouTubers that are monetised they get more money per view and better advertising options to make them even more money.

You won't be tracked, and if you are ever in any doubt you can simply unsubscribe at any time.

  5. I also didn't click like on them or subscribe. I am really afraid to go down that rabbit hole. I might never get off the computer and get work done around the house.

    God bless.

    1. Nothing happens if you click like except that I know 'someone' liked it, I don't even see who as it's all anonymous ... I just see just the final number of likes as can everyone else.

  6. I found the same thing when I got the storage jars - I found I had a lot more stuff than I realised. I won't have a no spend month but I won't need to get very much apart from fresh stuff. xx
