Bella Day

A smidge under eight weeks ago, on Valentines Day and many miles from us over the border in Bristol, England, a little pup was born to Mum, Hetti and Dad, Seb.  She was destined to be called Bella and destined to be ours.

Watching her birth on Georgie's YouTube channel was amazing ... at the time I didn't know she would end up with me, but I think a seed was sown.

She grew into a gorgeous, happy little girl, snuggling with her two sisters and brother and brought up in a happy house of Chihuahuas, a cat, chickens and lambs.  As all my regular and long term readers will recognise it all sounds so familiar doesn't it.

It's like she was born to be here.

So yesterday at the crack of dawn, literally ... we watched the blood red sun come up over the horizon as we whizzed down the A55 heading for England ... we set off to go and pick up the latest addition to our family.

Meeting Georgie in person was brilliant, and just like most of the bloggers and vloggers that I find myself reading and watching on a regular basis she was just as lovely in 'real life' as she comes over on her various channels.  Meet her for yourselves here ... Georgie on YouTube - Life in the Cottage

Chatting over coffee, we got to know all the dogs and were able to see for ourselves how little Bella had fitted into 'the pack', so we could replicate this as much as possible at home.

We got Bella's Mum and Dad to pose with her for some photos ...

... no treats were used in an attempt to get them to pose honest ... lol  ;-)

Then it was a free for all.

Lots of attention.

And a final loving snuggle from Bella's first human Mum, Georgina.

Then we hit the road for home ...

... with a pit stop after a few hours for coffee deprived humans, cooped up bigger doggies that needed to stretch their legs ... and a little hungry puppy.

She was absolutely brilliant on her first ever long car ride.

If she can cope with six hours of traffic jams from Bristol to Llanrwst, the journey backwards and forwards to my Smaller Life at just two hours will be a doddle.

Then it was time for dinner.

With an audience of not just one,

not just two ...

but three fascinated new puppy fans.

All, I suspect, living in hope of some leftovers rather than any real sense of sibling support.

Then it was time to settle down while the humans ate their dinner and watch some television ...

... until tired little eyes couldn't stay open any longer.

It was a wonderful, although very long day ... 6am until just after 7pm on the road and picking up Bella ... which Suky and Mavis actually really enjoyed.  They are great little travellers and would much rather be with us than be left at home when we are out and about.  We do stop every couple of hours for proper doggy walks and sniffing time, it's handy that this coincides nicely with my caffeine deprivation levels  ;-)

I'll leave you now ... I don't want to bore you too much with all these overly cute puppy pictures ... but be very aware I will be back with more !!

Oh go on, maybe one more then ...  Bella and her siblings.

(Photos one, two and this one are all Copyrighted to Georgina Elizabeth Hannay and should not be used without permission.  Thank you.)

  2. One word - Gorgeous!!

I love the way she's not at all intimidated by the 3 big siblings all watching her eat her dinner. And how tiny she is, in comparison to them - and they're not big anyway!

    1. He does the jobs he wants to do in Wales and is busy changing things. He mostly sleeps through van life to be honest ... it is a very laid back way of living :-)

  20. What a little darling. Your picture of Mavis, Suky and Ginger is fabulous - you can almost hear them thinking "what is this small rat-sized thing doing in our kitchen"?
Hope Bella's first night away from her birth-pack was OK, and that she found comfort in her forever-pack and you didn't have a night of crying and upset.

Nope, there was no crying or upset overnight, everyone slept peacefully.
