A Bit of This, a Bit of That ...and Vouchers

The Lupins by the front door look magnificent.

I love Lupins, perhaps even more or at the very least as much as I love Lavender, Daisies and Foxgloves.  The sturdiness, their attractiveness to the bees that dive head first into each and every individual flower and the subtle but dense colour they all come in make my heart sing.

And the fact that they go from this to the top photo in a matter of days!!

Someone shared this photo on Facebook earlier, an antique radiator with it's own little warming cupboard.  How lovely to be able to fold up your PJs and have them toasty warm before bed on a Winter's night.  After a bit of searching on Google I found other ones similar and found out that it is in fact designed to be a bread warmer.

Ooh ... toasty buns and toasty PJs.

The vouchers on the right arrived yesterday and when I went to put them into my purse I found I hadn't even used the ones on the left ... which arrived I'm guessing 3 months ago.  It wasn't so long ago I was building Challenges around these.  I'm wondering if I should have a go again.  I've been racking my brains for a new Challenge, although this one wouldn't be any different would it, it would just be like a blast from the past.

I'll see.

I'm a bit here, there and everywhere at the moment.  I think I have a touch of lockdown cabin fever ... which is never a good time to start something new!!

  1. What an amazing radiator. I wish one could still get them, although I have a towel dryer thingy on the radiator in my bedroom and, in the winder, I put my pjs or nighty over it before bed.

Lupins are gorgeous, aren't they. Very old fashioned cottage garden-y.

Perhaps another challenge would help to 'ground' you again??

  2. Those flowers look lovely near your front door. I haven't planted any this year due to staying home. I will be going to the hospital for surgery in 10 days so I don't want to venture out and catch anything that would delay that. I have been weeding a lot but it seems the weeds are winning this year. It is nice to be out in the yard, tho, when the weather is nice. Thanks for posting!

  3. I love that radiator! I live in an old Apt. building and we still have hot water radiators for heat - no warming section but I do like to put my nightgown on top before bed or warm up my coat before heading out on a cold winter's day!

  4. I put my vouchers in a drawer and forget about them. When the new ones arrived earlier in the month I checked the vouchers I already had and found two of them were going to be out of date at the end of May. So I spent them.

By the way, have you had that new spam comment yet? It looks like a scratchcard with words blacked out. The sender has a goooglie account so they are getting through.

    1. Not yet ... but I've seen it on other people's posts. There seems to be a lot of spammers opening accounts ☹️

  5. Sue when that radiator first came into view as I scrolled down I thought it was made of chocolate!

  6. Love the idea of the radiator, very handy indeed. I've never thought of growing lupins in a container.

  7. That radiator is wonderful, I'd love one like that too. I cannot get a lupin to grow in my garden :( they get eaten to the ground the minute I put them in. I've tried putting them in pots, same. I tried some from seed, never saw the light of day. I bought well matured already in flower ones in a garden centre and I swear by the following week they had totally disappeared! Somewhere in my garden is a huge, lupin loving snail I think!! x

  8. I've never seen a radiator like that. What a great concept! I would love to have one like that on a cold night to get my socks and nightgown warm....or even warm up my outdoor gloves before going out into frigid weather. Thank you for sharing.

    1. These are valid until Feb 2022 and May 2022 ... so I don't think I have to worry :-)
