Having a Pressured Clean Up

When we moved from our smallholding in Wales we left behind lots of our things, partly to do with not thinking we would need them again and partly because as we moved house ourselves with only our own vehicles we could only take so much ... and sadly our last load of items due to come with us just didn't fit in the back of our Mitsubishi truck.

One of the things left was our pressure washer and we didn't really think we would need to replace it, but then after such a wet, but mostly mild Winter our patio and outside things were turning green.  We were going to wash everywhere down with a weak bleach solution but then we decided a much smaller pressure washer would be a good investment and so we got one last week.

I swept up and tidied things a bit, we moved things out of the way and then it took Alan just over an hour to get everything looking wonderfully clean and fresh again.

We were both amazed at how well the bench in particular came up considering it was outside for a couple of years at the caravan, then for almost a year at the flat and then another year here, but I guess that's because the slats are nice chunky Oak.

A job well worth doing, it makes me smile every time I step outside.

  1. That does look like a good investment. I have watched videos of people pressure washing things and it is just amazing to watch! Like your bench it makes things look almost new again.

    1. There are a couple of You Tube channels that I watch that have people pressure washing patios, driveways and buildings ... it's lovely and relaxing to watch them and very satisfying to see the end result.

  2. I wish I had had the sense to do a yearly clean but I didn't and now even a professional clean doesn't really help all that much. xx

    1. The stones were only laid a few years before we bought this place so they have not had time to get in too bad a state, and when we had them re-laid Dave did a really good job of it both at the back and at the front. So now we just have to keep on top of it, as you say if you leave it too long it gets almost impossible.

  3. You have the same paving as we have and we find that after jet washing all the colours show up again like new. When they are dirty they begin to all look the same. Your patio looks beautiful.

    1. Indian Stone does come up beautifully with a wash doesn't it, and the colours really pop whenever it's wet.

    1. It really does, and it all looks so neat and tidy now. We just have to find somewhere to store the pressure washer now!!

  5. That's often the problem with declutter/moving.We discover at a later stage that we need certain items left behind or discarded.

  6. I would love to take a pressure washer to the outside of my garage and to the balcony. Sadly, I never get up the desire to go rent one.

  7. Good investment. We use our pressure washer a great deal. I have the same bench only I have painted it white.

    God bless.
