Blogmas - Advent Day 19

I had given up on the idea of getting any fairy lights for my little tree, and not wanting her to stay quite as naked as she was, I hung a few little decorations and some candy canes.

Tucked in and tied carefully on are my little Emma Bridgewater china cups and jug from last year.  As the tree is on the thoroughfare to my bathroom, kitchen area and front door it's the most used part of the lodge, so although the bows are pretty ... the knots are tight!!  And it's handy that me and the animals got used to walking through the narrow gap while the tree was naked.  😀

Now I have just discovered a box of fairy lights that Alan doesn't want to put anywhere so I have commandeered them, hopefully they will drape far enough from the plug socket to reach along the radiator cover to the tree.

Day 19  of the Advent calendar and am now the owner of a little pot of face cream.

I hope your weekend, the last one before Christmas, is going well.

  1. What a ~darling~ tree and your mini EB mugs are delightful. I am afraid I'm far too clumsy and would be terrified of having breakables where I walk past every day.

    1. They are gorgeous aren't they. I fell in love with them last year and when a 3 for 2 offer came into my inbox I just went for it. The jug with my name on stays out all year but the other two are Christmas treats and carefully packed away.

  2. A tree, however small, makes a difference. Ours only just fitted in!

I made Jumbleberry Jam yesterday - 9 jars of it - to give as gifts to friends and new neighbours. If you're tempted, the recipe is on the BBC Food site and it is incredibly quick and straightforward. It uses those bags of frozen mixed berries from the supermarket.

    1. Sadly I can't stand for long enough to make jam at the moment, but luckily I have enough homemade jams and marmalades to last at least 2 years. 😄

    3. It is a great name isn't it, and will look better on the labels than my Compost Jelly 😄🤣

    1. It's lovely, and what I like best is it doesn't look too fake as it has two different types of branch foliage. 🎄
