Blogmas Day Ten - Lights, Fires and YouTube

Todays Advent calendar offerings, the usual jam, some chard seeds ... and somehow I managed to fit all that tinselly garland and it's battery pack into that little drawer.  No wonder it was such a tug of war to get the drawer open!!

And here's Mavis sat in front of the 'fire'.  I wonder if she realised she wasn't getting any warmer!!

Now for a change here's some Weekend Watching.

Just a few channels from YouTube that I'm enjoying at the moment.  This first one is hilarious and most of her other videos are similarly honest, sarcastic and amusing.

And one of my current real favourites - Freakin Frugal

I'm always amazed at how much food is thrown away, but at least with Frugal Mommy and Daddy on the case, some of it gets used by them and donated forwards.

And a recent find is Little Mountain Ranch, a large family living on a ranch in chilly Canada, with lots of cooking, lots of snow and lots of fun.

I'm just glad I don't have look after animals anymore or step outside in those sorts of temperatures.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

  1. I wonder what Mavis is thinking?

At 6.00pm last night it was -3.5° when I got back from town, goodness knows what it got down to later, the only going outside I am doing for animals at present is three trips a day to the bird feeders, and to the ponds to clear away some ice so they have water.

    1. Yes, we are having to restock the bird feeder tree numerous times during the day. The Starlings seem to love the peanut butter bird feeder the most and it's fascinating watching them waiting their turn and then demanding it back when they think their 'friends' have had a long enough go.

  2. I am glad I don't have horses when the weather is this cold or it is sheeting down with rain. Like Jayne, my outside chores are topping up the bird feeders and going out to do the litter tray or empty the compost bin. I am debating whether to go out for the daily paper today - I'll let some vehicles go up and down the lane first I think. It's hills all the way to town.

    1. It's times like this when I wish that I just owned cats again and not dogs, although Alan has been bravely doing virtually all dog walks while it's so slippy.

  3. I like YouTube better than tv so will check these out. Another good one is Priscilla & Chelsea whose Christmas house tour without an inch left undecorated is a must see.😁

    1. It's another YouTube channel. It stays playing for up to 10 hours and it crackles just like a real fire, I think that's why Mavis was so enthralled by it. :-)

  5. Mavis looks very comfortable there, bless her.
Thanks for the Youtube links :)
